Mineral water rises to the surface from a volcanic fissure in Bad Bertrich from a depth of over 2,300 meters. Germany's only Glauber's salt thermal spring bubbles here. Remarkable: When it comes out, the water has a temperature of 32 degrees Celsius.

Because of its healing effect on numerous ailments, the spring water is recognized as medicinal water and is used in drinking or bathing treatments for natural treatment. The Romans recognized the beneficial effects of water around 2,000 years ago. They discovered the source for the first time and so expertly that the underground masonry has been preserved to this day. The direct source area is not accessible for hygienic reasons.
Tasting allowed
The drinking fountain is located at the historic Electoral Palace in the center of the small spa town and is freely accessible. For filling larger quantities, we recommend the Lion's Head Fountain, which is located at the entrance to the spa gardens and is open every morning from eight to nine o'clock. You can get bottles and carrier bags at the nearby GesundLand Tourist Information in Bad Bertrich.
